There’s something genuinely special about being out on the water before the rest of Koh Samui wakes up. The sunrise SUP tour gets you gliding along the coastline just as that first golden light starts bouncing off the sea — calm, quiet, and absolutely worth the early alarm.
This is a small-group experience, capped at just four people, so you’re not fighting for space or waiting around. Whether you’ve never touched a paddleboard in your life or you’ve done it a hundred times, the guides will sort you out on the day with a quick briefing before you hit the water. The gear is all top-quality Starboard equipment — nothing janky about it.
You’ll launch from the northeastern coast of the island and paddle along the shoreline as the sun climbs. The water is typically glassy in the morning, which makes it perfect for beginners — no swells, no boat wake, just you and the horizon. You’ll pass by stretches of beach that most tourists never see from this angle, and the panoramic views of the coastline are frankly stunning.
The whole experience runs about two hours. It’s not a grind — it’s actually pretty meditative once you find your rhythm. Your guide leads the way, points out interesting spots along the coast, and keeps things relaxed. Drinking water is included, and the instructor knows what they’re doing.
If you’re staying in Chaweng, Bophut, Bangrak, or Choeng Mon, you’ll get complimentary pickup and drop-off included. Easy.

You don't need any prior SUP experience — the instructor covers everything you need before you launch. All you need is the ability to swim and a willingness to try.
You'll be on professional Starboard paddleboards, which are stable and well-suited for coastal touring. All equipment is included — just show up and paddle.
