Overview
Koh Tao has some of the clearest water in the Gulf of Thailand, and Koh Nangyuan — three tiny islands connected by sandbars — is genuinely one of the more striking spots you’ll see in this part of the world. This day trip gets you to both by speed boat from Samui, which cuts the travel time significantly compared to the ferry.
The day runs about 8 hours. You’re picked up from your hotel on Samui (or you can meet at the pier — departure points rotate between Bangrak, Plailaem, and Maenam depending on the day, so confirm the night before). Once you’re on Koh Tao, the first snorkeling stop is Mango Bay (Ao Muang) — a sheltered bay with healthy coral and plenty of fish. Snorkeling gear is included. After that, it’s over to Koh Nangyuan for the afternoon: more snorkeling from the beach, relaxing, or a short hike up to the viewpoint. Lunch is a buffet at a beachside restaurant on Koh Tao. You’re back at your hotel in the evening.
This is a bigger group tour — up to 75 people — so set expectations accordingly. It’s still well-run and the destinations do the heavy lifting. Good for anyone who wants to tick off Koh Tao in a day without committing to an overnight.
It’s one of the most efficient ways to see Koh Tao and Koh Nangyuan without staying the night. Speed boat means more time there, less time on the water. Check availability and book on Viator
Koh Tao and Koh Nangyuan both on the itinerary. Koh Tao is a proper island with a village and dive culture. Koh Nangyuan is three tiny islands connected by a sand bar with famous elevated views.
Some of the clearest water in the Gulf of Thailand. On a calm day you will likely see turtles, reef sharks, and large schools of fish. All equipment provided.
A short uphill walk leads to the viewpoint overlooking all three connected islands and the turquoise water between them — one of the most photographed spots in the region.
An 8-hour day — plan around it. Speedboat departs Samui pier in the morning, returns late afternoon. Hotel pickup and drop-off from anywhere on Koh Samui included.
