Overview
Koh Nang Yuan is one of those places that makes you wonder how it even exists. Three tiny islands connected by white sand causeways, completely surrounded by clear blue water, and topped by a viewpoint that might be the most-photographed spot in the Gulf of Thailand. Pairing it with Koh Tao in a single day is the obvious move, and this small-group VIP tour does it well.
Departing from Koh Samui around 7:30 AM, you’ll head north across the Gulf to Koh Tao first — about 1.5-2 hours by boat depending on conditions. The ‘VIP’ in the name refers to the small group size and the level of service: hotel pickups, proper lunch, attentive guides, and no overcrowded boat experience.
**At Koh Nang Yuan:**
First stop is the viewpoint — a 20-minute hike up from the beach to a panoramic platform with views across all three islands and their connecting causeways. It’s steep but manageable, and the view is completely worth it. Bring a camera. After the hike, you’ve got time to snorkel around the Nang Yuan coral gardens, which are some of the healthiest shallow reefs in the area. Clownfish, parrotfish, and the occasional turtle are regular sightings.
**At Koh Tao:**
After Nang Yuan, it’s a short hop to Koh Tao itself for a proper Thai-style lunch. You’ll then have time to snorkel a couple of the famous dive sites that ring the island — Japanese Garden and Shark Island are common stops, both with excellent coral and marine life even for snorkelers. Whale sharks have been spotted in these waters, though no guarantees.
**Practical stuff:** Entrance fees to Koh Nang Yuan (about 250 THB for adults, 150 THB for children) are NOT included and are paid at the pier. Hotel pickup and drop-off from your Koh Samui accommodation is included. Snorkeling gear is provided. Not suitable for people with back injuries.

You'll snorkel both the coral gardens at Koh Nang Yuan and the famous dive sites around Koh Tao. Japanese Garden and Shark Island are regular stops with excellent visibility and healthy coral. All snorkeling equipment is provided.
This is a small-group tour — not a cattle boat with 100+ people. You get proper hotel pickup from Koh Samui, attentive guides throughout, and a much more relaxed pace at each stop. It costs a bit more but the experience is completely different.
A proper Thai-style lunch is included at Koh Tao between snorkeling sessions. It's real food — not a sad box meal on a rocking boat. You'll get soft drinks and water throughout the day too.
