Overview
Honestly, most private boat charters out of Koh Samui follow the same circuit: Pig Island, Koh Tan, maybe Ang Thong if they’re feeling ambitious. This one goes somewhere different. You’re heading to Tong Nai Pan on Koh Phangan’s northeast coast — not the Full Moon Party beach, not the backpacker strip — a genuinely quiet bay that takes some effort to reach from either island, which is precisely why it’s worth the trip.
Four hours, private speedboat, your group only. Here’s what that actually looks like.
You leave from Fishermans Village in Bophut — the wharf next to Coco Tams, specifically. A minibus collects you from your hotel between 8:30 and 8:45 AM. Once at the pier, you get a briefing and meet the guide, captain, and engineer — all three are present on every trip, which is the kind of detail that matters on a private speedboat.
The boat heads northeast along Koh Phangan’s eastern coastline rather than taking the direct route. On the way, you stop at a quiet bay for swimming and snorkeling — no crowds, no organized snorkel tour groups, just a beach that most people on Koh Samui don’t know exists. The guide brings snorkel gear. The water is clear.
Tong Nai Pan is two bays divided by a small headland on Koh Phangan’s northeast tip. Tong Nai Pan Noi (the smaller bay) is the calmer, more sheltered one. Tong Nai Pan Yai is slightly larger. Both are quieter than anything you’ll find on Koh Samui’s main beaches, with the kind of sand and water combination that actually justifies the journey.
You’ll have time here to swim, sit on the beach, and eat lunch at one of the beachside restaurants. Lunch is not included in the tour price — you’re eating at your own pace at whatever restaurant appeals to you. Budget 200-400 baht per person for a solid meal; the restaurants here are priced for actual humans rather than tourist markup.
The boat holds up to 14 people, and it’s completely private — your group, no one else. That changes the dynamic considerably compared to shared tours. You can adjust stops, spend longer at the bay if you’re enjoying it, and generally move at your own pace rather than being managed by a schedule built around a mixed group of strangers.
Split between a full group of 14, the per-person cost works out around $75-80 — competitive with many shared tours, with considerably more flexibility and space. Even at smaller group sizes it’s worth pricing out against the alternatives.
Hotel pickup from 8:30 AM. Departs Fishermans Village, Bophut. Duration four hours on the water (guide can arrange additional time at 2,000 baht per hour if you want to extend). Soft drinks and fresh fruit included. Bottled water included. Lunch at Tong Nai Pan is on your own at beachside restaurants. Alcohol available to purchase, not included. Gratuities not included but appreciated.
Suitable for all fitness levels. Children must be accompanied by an adult. The speedboat is fast — the crossing has some bounce depending on conditions. If anyone in your group is particularly sensitive to motion, it’s worth knowing before you book.
This is a half-day trip. Four hours goes faster than you think when you factor in the transit, the en-route swim stop, and time at Tong Nai Pan. You won’t feel shortchanged, but don’t book this expecting a lazy all-day affair. If you want longer on the water, ask about extending — the crew can usually accommodate if the boat isn’t booked back-to-back.

This is a fully private charter — just your group on the boat. Fits up to 14 people, so it works out well split between friends or family. Departs at 2:30 PM from Koh Samui.
You're heading to Tong Nai Pan on Koh Phangan's northeast coast — not the Full Moon Party side. It's a proper sandy beach with calm water, a few good beach restaurants, and not too many people.
The boat stops at a quiet bay along the east coast for swimming and snorkeling before reaching Tong Nai Pan. Snorkel gear is provided. Water conditions on the east side are generally calmer.
Lunch at Tong Nai Pan is on your own — you'll eat at one of the beachside restaurants there. Budget around 200-400 THB per person for a solid meal.
